This Focus Subject

There have been many histories written about the market town of Horncastle, but one of the most significant omissions concerns the Livestock/Cattle Market. This pamphlet seeks to put that right. The generation now passing will be the last to recall the location and role played by the Livestock Market.

Please look at the serialised abridged video versions or full serialised video versions below or to read the 8 chapter document in full go here.

The Market Charter for Horncastle dates from 1230, during the reign of Henry the Third, (1216-1272). The Royal Charter signed on 18th October 1230 confirms one signed 18 months before, itself confirming annual Fairs already being held but adds the right to hold a weekly market...

Horncastle’s history predates the Roman settlement at the confluence of the Wolds rivers of The Bain and The Waring. Its importance was enhanced by the building of the Roman fort with stone walls, remnants of which can still be seen at various points across the town...

One of LN9 local Historians namely Robert Bell has produced a document entitled

HORNCASTLE LIVESTOCK MARKET

It is around 30 pages long of some 8 chapters, all of which will be narrated and serialised over the coming months below.  This is in an effort to raise its important profile to Horncastle and the surrounding LN9 area development over the Centuries.

Please listen to this video-voice.

AI Introduction to LN9Lens

This AI-generated video introduces LN9Lens and explains its key features. Like much AI-generated content, it may contain the occasional spelling mistake, and its understanding of cricket is best described as enthusiastic rather than expert.

HC Introductory Short Video

1015. This type of video is similar to an explainer video but allows for slightly more detail. For LN9Lens, these videos should typically be no longer than 90 seconds. They are usually animated but may also feature a presenter using a green screen.

HC INTRO VSL

A VSL stands for Video Sales Letter. It is as it implies, a letter not a picture story. A very powerful way to justify the reason behind a subject with the distraction of differing pictures and actual video.
